The causes include illness or a high intake of fluoride during childhood, trauma to the teeth and post-orthodontic discolouration. Until recently, the only way to eliminate these spots was to drill them out and cover the affected area with a veneer or composite filling.
Using the ICON system, we can treat white spots using a method that doesn’t require any drilling or anaesthetic. The treatment involves applying resin to the spot, helping it to blend in with the surrounding tooth.
The microtechnology also fills in demineralised enamel and reinforces the surrounding area.
